Guntur Mountain is an
active volcano located in Pananjung Village and Pasawahan Village, Tarogong
Kaler, Garut Regency, West Java, and has an altitude of 2,249 meters above sea
level. For those of you who intend to go hiking but are afraid the track will
be difficult, maybe you should try to go to Mount Guntur. This mountain is
suitable for beginners because the track is quite easy.
Guntur Mountain has 3
resting posts. The first post is just an empty building that was once occupied
for salespeople. The second post is that we will be asked to re-administer and
check the completeness of the camp, in the second post there are many shops
selling food. The third post is
where the climbers camp.
When you have reached the third post where the climbers are camping, you don't have to worry about thirst or hunger there are stalls selling food and others. In addition, there are also toilets and prayer rooms.
One of the climbers, Rifki (18), from Bandung, admitted that he likes to
climb Mount Guntur to enjoy his vacation time. According to him, this mountain
has a beautiful view that is not inferior to other mountains.
Guntur Mountain is adjacent to other mountains that surround the city of
Garut. To the south of Guntur, there is Putri Mountain which is opposite Cikuray
Mountain and Papandayan Mountain, then to the west there is Masigit Mountain, Parupuyan
Mountain, and other mountains. Around the foot of Guntur, precisely in the
Tarogong Kaler Subdistrict, there are many hotels and inns equipped with hot
water bathing facilities whose hot springs are obtained from Guntur Mountain.
